InnovPlantProtect, a collaborative laboratory dedicated to innovation for crop protection. Dr. Pedro Fevereiro, CEO of the InnovPlantProtect Collaborative Laboratory; Invite Full Professor with Habilitation, ITQB-NOVA.

This communication will present InnovPlantProtect (InPP – https://iplantprotect.pt), a private nonprofit association with 13 public and private partners. InPP is a quadruple helix institution that aims to develop, up to TRL 5-6, innovative biological and digital solutions to protect crops and promote safer, smarter and more productive agricultural production modes, adjustable to the variations introduced by climate change, and more environmentally friendly. InPP aims to develop, till proof of concept or prototype, New biopesticides for pests and diseases; New pest and disease resistant varieties; New monitoring and diagnostic methods; New risk analysis models and; New formulations for agriculture. Those objectives will be developed to address identified lake of solutions in particular in Mediterranean crops and for new pests and diseases. Some ongoing work will be address in the talk.

Areas of expertise: Plant Biology, Plant biotechnology; Plant Molecular biology, Functional genomics; Molecular diversity of cultivated plants. Supervisor of 20 post-Docs, 20 PhDs and 21 MSc, co-supervisor of 6 PhDs. Coordinator of 11 national research projects. Orcid: 0000-0003-1311-8406; Scopus Author ID: 6701650524. Co-author of 108 papers in indexed scientific journals, cited by 2700 documents; Scopus h-Index: 32.
